I was immersed into sports at the early age of 5, where Gaelic football was ingrained into my upbringing. This is where my interest in sports and fitness stemmed. I started competitively playing at the age of 12 for my school, college and county. It was when I went to Dubai, I got the opportunity to represent the Middle East in the world games. To play at this grade, the level of my fitness was a huge contributing factor so aside from the skill work, I focused a lot on running and gym based workouts. The following year we left Dubai for Houston. This is when my husband encouraged me to take on this passion further and do a Personal Trainer course. When I finished the course I continued my education and did NASM. In the mean time I worked independently as a Personal Trainer. During this time I joined Crossfit nearly 3 years ago and loved the workouts, people and friendly competition. The sense of community is incomparable to anything I’ve ever experienced. It has given me the tools to better for myself as an athlete and as a trainer. Teacher by trade, my intentions are always to help people and guide them to the best of their ability. Crossfit has changed my lifestyle from my diet to working on things like mobility and progressions. Although my priorities have switched it still epitomizes what my overall goal is, which is to combine my love for teaching with health and fitness, so I can be the greaterst version of myself.
