I have been coaching for almost 6 years now. There are many things I have learned along the journey and there is still so much more for me to learn. Here is one thing I have learned and want to remind you:
It does not matter how many times you say you want to accomplish a goal, what matters is what you are doing for it. At the end of the day, your actions dictate your true desires.
You want to lose weight? What are you doing about it outside of the gym? You want to get better at gymnastic movements? What are you doing before, after or outside of class? You want to create more intensity in your workouts? How are you fueling yourself? You want to get stronger? How is your sleep/recovery?
The same can be said about your life. You want that promotion? What are you doing about it to get it? You want that car? Are you saving money for it? You want to be a better relationship? Are you listening better then? The list can go on and on.
You can tell me what you want and you can even scream until you turn blue, but that won’t get you there. Your actions will. Staying consistent with them will.
I have complete faith and belief in all my athletes. If you tell me you want to accomplish something, I’ll be beside you providing support and guidance. But I can’t do the action for you and I’m also not going to force you. It comes down to if you really want that goal because if you do, you’ll do the work.
And as a coach, I’m trained to notice everything. So I notice everything. Meaning, I know if you’re working on your goals or not.
