Love Letter – Valuable Skills, Health Metrics, & Resiliency Tips

If you have been following me on social media or have had a long conversation about why I coach the way I do, you will hear me refer to the name “Ben Bergeron” many times. 

He is by far one of the top CrossFit Coaches in this world. He has coached championship athletes and team and also runs one of the most successful CrossFit gyms in the world, CrossFit New England. 

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him in two separate occasions. Once I went to a weekend seminar in Denver that he was hosting and another time I went to his gym for a 3-Day course in Boston. Both experiences were completely amazing and eye-opening. 

I try to mirror our gym a lot from what he does at CrossFit New England. I learned through him that in order to build the best athletes, you must build them as a person first. I first heard about our gym core values from him at Denver. I learned from him what it means to pursue excellence everyday and I learned from him that it’s about playing to long game in life. I learned how to better communicate with my team (still need to improve) from him and I learned how to actually listen from him. This is just some of what I have learned from him. 

He has a Podcast called “Chasing Excellence” and I highly recommend it. I wanted to share his latest episode which I believe was great. He speaks about valuable skills, health metrics and resilience. Enjoy:

Also, our gym programming for class comes from CompTrain which comes from him and his team. So the program you get in class is the same program a champion coach provides his class at CrossFit New England.
