The popular saying is, "To win the day, you have to win the morning".
But here's the thing, to win the morning, you have to win the prior evening. We can put a lot of focus on doing everything to create an efficient and effective morning but your evenings will always dictate your morning.
Start to focus on what you can do to create a productive evening. What can you do? Set a bedtime. Wine down for sleep by creating a form of meditation. Remove social media or TV at a certain time. Remove your work phone or work laptop at a certain time. Try to eat dinner at the same time. Set up your schedule for the next day. Pick out your clothes for the next day.
If you don't do any of these, don't try to do them all at once. I'm still working on my evening routine. My advice, try to do one or two of these at a time. Do it for a couple of weeks so it can become part of you and then add an additional task.
Think about it, if you go to lay in bed late, and then stay up on your phone there is a very good chance that you will hit the snooze button multiple times in the morning. You will then wake up very tired and all those great plans you had for the morning get pushed to the side. You then find yourself just trying to get through the day and eventually the week. Your evenings are critical.
If you want to win the morning, win the evening.
