“You’re a sum of the 5 closest people you surround yourself with”. We have heard this saying so many times in our life but everything about it is so true!
Take a second and think to yourself of all the great things you have accomplished in your life. Really think about when the journey began and when it finished. Now, I want you to think about who was with you in the beginning and at the end. Make no mistake about it, everything we accomplish in life, it was not done alone. There was at least one person or a couple of people that helped you along the way. For some or most of us, there was a person or a couple of people who were there the whole way. Here is the reality, they most likely were there in almost every accomplishment you had. They probably weren’t always physically there but their words were in your head constantly. What I’m getting at is this, if you surround yourself with great people, great things happen for you.
What is one of the reasons why I love CrossFit Be Someone? Because each one of you makes me want to be the greatest version of myself. Why? Because you each display greatness everyday in and out of the gym. You are all successful and driven and continue to look for ways to improve. You all come in and give it all you got despite of what is going on outside our four walls, despite the weather, despite the lack of sleep, despite not eating enough that day, despite having asthma, despite coming off a week vacation, despite coming in from working a long 10-12 hours, despite sitting in traffic.
Y’all have become my inner circle and surrounding myself with people like y’all and the actions y’all display is contagious. There is a reason why people in CrossFit gyms become the best of friends. The reason is they because they bring out the best out of each other. And that’s what we do here for each other.
I heard a quote one day that said, “We don’t love a person for who they are, we love a person for who they make us become and make us feel”. If you think about it, the people we love the most bring out the best in us and make us feel great.
How does your inner circle make you feel? Are you at your greatest with your current inner circle?
