How many of us have hoped for a promotion but do the bare minimum at work? How many of us have hoped for a better relationship but still don’t do the little things that matter? How many of us have hoped to lose weight but continue to eat out regularly? How many of us have hoped to save money but spend money as soon as you see a sale? How many of us have hoped to become more fit but only come to the gym once or twice a week?
Having hope is not wrong but depending on hope is. I personally hope to own the greatest gym in the world but it’s not going to happen if I don’t take action beyond just hoping. There has been plenty of times that I hoped to achieve a task and did not get the results I wanted. The main reason, I sat and just hoped. I thought it would just happen but I was sadly mistaken. If I want to be successful then I need to do what successful people do, take action. Whatever that is, I need to do it.
We can’t expect success if we don’t make the necessary moves in life to get there. Whatever it is that you’re trying to accomplish, it requires more than just hoping. If you’re trying to get promoted, figure out how you can stand out. If you want to save your relationship, figure out where you have been wrong. If you want to lose weight, figure out how to eat better. If you want to get that muscle up or pull up, figure out what more you can do outside of class. If you are tired of feeling pain, figure out what you can do to get rid of it.
Again, there is nothing wrong with hoping. What is wrong is hoping things will just magically happen because “you’re a good person and you deserve it”. Unfortunately life does not work that way. You need to go after what you are hoping for and make it happen. You need to all understand this, you are capable of accomplishing anything you want in this life. So quit sitting back and allowing things you are hoping for past you by.
We “Live Hungry” which means we pursue excellence, put first thing first, are proactive, leave things better than we found it and treat all things big.
So go after your hope and turn it into a reality!
Respectfully,
Josh
